Youth Tennis Camp

(Ages 6 - 12)

 

Camp focus on development of juniors working on all skills of tennis along with lots of fun games with certified experienced tennis staff.  Each day of camp, players are introduced to a different “stroke of the day” including the forehand, backhand, serve, and volley.  The camp also offers a cross-training component to enhance players’ coordination and endurance.   Campers can also look forward to using inflatable waterslides once a weekTennis lessons will be taught by the staff of Fairfield County Tennis Academy.  For more information about their programs, please call (203) 640-1724 or visit their web site @ www.fairfieldcountytennis.net.

Spring 2008 Tennis Camps

May 17 – June 14 (No class May 24)

Classes held on Saturday

Tennis Camp 1:00- 3:30pm (ages 5-8 & 9-12) $159

Ratio: 4-6 students per instructor

Minimum of 5 sign-ups, max of 35

Rain make-ups will be held on June 21 only

 

Fall 2008 junior clinics

September 15, 2008 – October 17, 2008

 

Classes held on Monday

Pee Wees 3:30 – 4:00pm (ages 4&5) $79

Juniors 4:00 – 5:00pm  (Beginner) (ages 9 – 12) $129

Juniors 5:00 - 6:00pm  (Beginner) (ages 6- 8) $129

Ratio: 4 –6 students per instructor

Minimum of 3 sign-ups per class; maximum of 15

Rain make-ups will be held at the end of the session

Classes held on Wednesday

Juniors 3:30- 4:30pm (Advanced Beginner) (ages 9 - 12) $129

Juniors 4:30- 5:30pm (Advanced Beginner) (ages 6 - 8) $129

Pee Wees 5:30 – 6:00pm(ages 4&5) $79

Ratio: 4-6 students per instructor

Minimum of 3 sign-ups per class; maximum of 15

Juniors 3:30 – 5:00pm (Match Play) (Ages 9 – 12 & 13 – 16) $139

Minimum of 4 sign-ups per age group; maximum of 24 for both age groups combined

Juniors 5:00 – 6:00pm (Beginner/Adv. Beginner) (Ages 9 – 12) $129

Ratio: 3-6 students per instructor

Minimum of 3 sign-ups per class; maximum of 10

 

 

About our Head Professional

John Barbaria returns for his third year as Head Pro. John has had several years of teaching experience and has taught at Fairfield Indoor, Tennis Club of Trumbull, Sylvan Tennis Club, and Milford Recreation and Westport Parks and Recreation.

                                   

About our staff…

Co-Directors Dave Kardas and Greg Sansonetti run tennis camps and clinics in Easton, Newtown, Stratford, Wilton, Orange, and Fairfield in conjunction with town recreation departments. They also direct programs for Branford, Wilton,  Greenwich and New Canaan YMCA’s. Dave, a member of both USPTR and USPTA, is Director of Tennis with the Westport Parks and Recreation Department. Greg, also a USPTR-member, recently won the New England Open mixed doubles tournament and has taught at several Fairfield County clubs over the past ten years. Greg also brings to court an undergraduate degree in Sport Science and certification through both USTA Sports Science and the American Council on Exercise.

All classes will be held at Route 7 courts. There will be no class on Fourth of July. All pee wee and tennis camp participants will receive a FREE T-shirt. Repeat signups will also receive a FREE water bottle. Non-residents will pay an additional $10 per class. Rackets are available for purchase through instructors.
