IMACS MATHEMATICS ENRICHMENTS CLASSES FOR CHILDREN
(GRADES 1 - 7)

IMACS Math Enrichment is a series of fast- paced, fun classes that develops mathematics and logical reasoning. We use a combination of logic puzzles, deductive games, mathematical problem solving and other interesting activities. Students acquire a well-rounded self-confidence and show significant improvement in thinking, reasoning and in the ability to tackle non-routine problems. This curriculum is specifically designed for children who like math and do well in their math classes at school. Students are exposed to a great deal of mathematics that is not taught in traditional programs. Reservations are required and space is limited. All classes run in 8-week sessions. All classes begin THE WEEK OF September 14th except the Primary Level.

MATHEMATICS CLASSES:

The Primary Level: A sequence of classes designed for 1st graders. These classes meet one morning each week for 1 hour at Miller School. Wednesdays 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM. Tuition $275.00. Class begins 11/8. Activity #: 5252
The Elementary Level: Provides challenge, learning and fun for 2nd graders and meets one day each week: Driscoll School Tuesday or Thursday, starts 9/8 or 9/10. Tuition $365.00 Activity #’s

The Full Enrichment Level: students in grades 3-5, this level meets each week for 1 ½ hours after school at Comstock Community Center. Thursday 2:20 PM -3:45 PM. Tuition $400.00. Class begins 9/17. Activity #: 5251

The Intermediate Enrichment Level: For bright and mathematically talented students in grades 4-7. An alternative to long-distance learning. Tuesday 2:20 – 3:45 PM at Comstock. Tuition $425.00. Class begins 9/15. Activity #: 5253

The Advanced Level: Prior course work and special permission necessary to enter this course. Thursday 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM at Comstock . Class begins 9/17. Tuition $425.00. Activity #: 5254

Computer Enrichment: Students don’t merely use the computer in this course; they write computer programs! Using the language LOGO (developed at MIT) and with individualized guidance, students develop basic programming and problem-solving skills. Students can also apply these skills in the IMACS Virtual Robotics Lab, where programmable, configurative robots exist in a virtual world that contains the physical realities of friction, acceleration, and conservation of momentum.
